Shadows and Reaching

Last night Avarey discovered her shadow! It was the most precious thing I have ever seen! She swatted and tried to grab her little shadow. I wish I would have got it on camera! I'm gonna try and capture another shadow play date soon!

And this morning...much to my surprise, my princess reached her little chubby arms out to me! I've been trying to teach her to come to mama for a while now and she finally got it! I love it! I can't believe how much she learning and how FAST she is growing! 6 months already...nutty! Please make time stop....I'm so in love with this age!!

Update Day Five

So after Five days of fever's and an irritable baby...Av's finally got a "little" break today!

The Doctor called last night after our second round of blood work and a urine test. And....she contracted the Roseola Virus "baby measles." Which I googled as soon As I hung up the phone with the doctor.


About Roseola

Roseola (also known as sixth disease, exanthem subitum, and roseola infantum) is a viral illness in young children, most commonly affecting those between the ages of 6 months and 2 years. It is typically marked by several days of high fever, followed by a distinctive rash just as the fever breaks.

Though Av's fever is gone she has broken out in the rash. It doesn't bother her...though it breaks my heart to see my baby covered in red bumps. Anyways She's doing MUCH better today! She's had two good naps today though she still isn't interested in eating. :-(

John and I are very relieved our princess is getting back to her normal self! The rash could last anywhere from a couple hours to a few days....so just a few short days and Av's won't even remember any of this! Thank you to everyone who's called and left messages of concern for Av!

Day Four

~Sick Baby~

My little Av's stared a fever on Saturday. I figured it was just teething and made her comfortable. Sunday her temperature was still high...it peaked at 101.8 and I was still thinking ...it's just teething (maybe I was more like hoping). Anyways Sunday night it got worse. She woke up screaming twice and did not sleep well tossing and turning all night. Her temp...rose to 102.7 and around 5:00 am I called the after hours nurse for advice. She pretty much just confirmed that I was doing all I could. I was giving her luke warm sponge baths, rotating Tylenol and Motrin every 6 hours, keeping her lightly dressed (in just a shirt so she didn't get a chill, or just in her diaper), and watching for any change. The nurse also suggested I call for a same day appointment the next day. So Monday morning Avarey finally fell asleep around 7...thank goodness cause I was exhausted too. Anyways we woke up around 9 ( a nice 2 hour nap!) and I took her temp, I was relieved to see that it was way down at 99.9!! However after I feed her breakfast she started getting warm again. I took her temp and sure enough...it was climbing back up...101.9, ugh. I immediately called and made an appointment. The doctor checked her ears and throat...and they were "perfect" (his terminology). He sent us upstairs for a blood test to check for infection. This was a nightmare. They couldn't find a vein, Av's was screaming, a line was starting to form in the lab and I was on the verge of tears. Finally they managed to extract some blood from her right arm and we were on our way home. I made Avarey feel comfy the rest of the day though she was highly agitated...not herself. She was crying and whining and needless to say...I felt horrible for my baby girl. I thought her fever was finally breaking last night and that we were all going to get some much needed rest...but that's not the way it happened. Avarey was up all night again. Her fever broke through 103 and peaked at 103 again this morning. Again Avarey went back to sleep after daddy left for work around 7:00 am. We again sleep for two hours when we got a call from the doctor. Turns out that her blood clotted and they couldn't use it. My heart sank because I knew what this meant. He wanted us to come back in today for another blood sample as well as a urine test. This is never ending. I'm exhausted and stressed. Words can't describe how horrible I feel for my little princess who is also miserable. So here we are again...Tuesday (day 4 of high fever's) still don't know what's going on and we are about to go back in for more tests. Please Lord give us strength today.

Crazy how fast time goes by! I'm glad our daughter's will grow up together! And I hope they have the best road trips...just like we did (screaming/singing NSync and Britney as loud as we could)!

John, Avarey and I headed out to Parker Friday! It was a last minute trip and it turned out to be sooo much fun! Saturday we got up early and headed out to Breakfast at Bluewater! After breakfast John decided to kill a little time by showing me ALL around Parker...his "stomping grounds" as he calls it! lol WE literally drove around for an hour and a half! It was cute how he was telling Av's and I stories about every inch of this town! Too cute! After our "little" tour we headed up River to Kyle's parents house to meet up with everyone and put the boat out on the water! Avarey loved the water...just like her mommy and daddy! Kyle and Erica were so great, always making sure Av's was ok! It was so nice to be out in Parker on the River with Erica! It's been too long! Let's not let it ever be that long again! WE hung out at the Sandbar, cruised up to the dam (yes Kyle and John I know it's the deepest dam...lol) and than floated while Av's was taking a little nap! We all had a late lunch at Roadrunner and than made our way back to John's parents house for family time! Av's had so much fun spending time with John's parents and her cousin's! Sunday was a lazy day! We had breakfast with the Jones's and than had a little more family time with Grandma and Grandpa Harris! The three of us took a nice nap and than headed home around 3pm. What a great weekend! Much needed! John and I loved taking Avarey out on the River and it couldn't have turned out any better! Av's didn't even get red! I did re-apply sunscreen a couple times...but what mommy doesn't?! WE love , love, love River Weekends and great friends!

Goodbye #2 The BBQ

John Avarey and I drove out to Fullerton yet again for Jen's BBQ! Actually Avarey and I dropped John off at Lefty's for a Tattoo appointment and than headed to Jen's to help set a few things up and run errands. I picked him up a little later and brought him back to the BBQ! Avarey was a trooper (when is she not...knock on wood) but seriously Avarey was great all day! She even took a nap in her pack n' play! Avarey was an angel, and John and I had a great time with our friends!

Down Town Fullerton...Jen's last Friday

I decided to drive out to Fullerton Friday night to squeeze a little extra bestie time in before Japan. I left Murrieta around 9:45, Av's was sound asleep with her amazing daddy to watch her for the night! I arrived at Stadium Tavern in Fullerton around 10:30 pm (already way past my bedtime)! Jen was already tipsy!lol I wasn't there for 20 minutes when we headed over to Heroes! Now I haven't been out to DTF in forever and I wasn't missing anything! I'm so over the bar scene...but anything for my bestie! Anyways it turned out to be a great night! I had two beers and was done! I'm a light weight...not much of a drinker! I ended up spending the night at Theresa's (Jen's sister's). I set my alarm for 5:30...I wanted to be home before Av's woke up! I woke up around 6:30 and couldn't figure out why my alarm didn't go off!?!? Turns out my phone was going off all night...(the momma was calling to see if I got home ok. She's I'm 25 and yes she is still a worry wart)! Theresa on the other hand was a little annoyed at my mom's checking in! Sorry T, thanks for not kicking me out! She ended up turning my phone on silent...I had no idea till Jen told me the next day! Yay, that's just two beers and I was passed out! Here are some pictures from the night!
